Tackle for 2008

Tackle......tackle and more tackle! The 2008 season brings on many products for Pro Bass Fishing.ca to put to the test, but I think we're up for the challenge! There are some brand new products and some not so brand new so our readers can rest assured that we will do our best to bring them our results. Let's go over just some of the tackle that we will be using this advent season.

Shimano has come out with a new line of light weight bait casting reels in the Core. This is a peach of a reel! It feels good and right for my grip and I know it will make 1000 casts feel like 50, no doubt in my mind. I combined it with the new Shimano Cumara 7'2" medium heavy extra fast operation rod for close presence pitching and flipping. I think this new line of rods from Shimano will well shine in the advent season so combining these two gems is going to be a treat.

Shimano Reels

Quantum has a great buy in their affordable Accurist Pt and Code bait casting reels. Both come in the burner series 7.0.1 gear ratio. The combo I am looking forward to is the Accurist Pt teamed with the Tommy Biffle Tour Edition Pt 7'6" heavy operation rod. Pitching will be a blast with the flipping switch of the Accurist and the 'telephone post' thickness of the rod with the feather light feel. I haven't decided which rod will coincide with the Code yet, but I can tell you that it will be a match made in tackle heaven! The part spinning reel, Kinetic Pti, also made it into the Pro Bass Fishing.ca tackle variety for this season and it will be combined with a Shimano Crucial 6'8" medium extra fast operation drop shot rod. This match already feels good and it will feel even good with a hefty Bass on!

A brand new braided line will be tried and tested this advent season too. The Spiderwire Invisi-Braid caught my eye instantly! I think it's a great concept. The braid basically is translucent in the water and for me that means a lot! It could very well have a permanent place in our tackle box. I spooled up the Shimano Core reels with 30lb test of this translucent miracle braid. Let's see what happens this season. I have a good feeling this braid might find its way into other reels as well. We shall see, indeed!

The baits this year are endless with many to select from. The Berkley 4" Power Hawg well caught my eye. It sure looks good especially the color, peanut butter and jam! The color camo looks intriguing as well. I can't wait to put one of these puppies on the end of my line. Yamamoto, Gambler, Lake Fork, all these well known companies will be in our tackle box for this season as well. Yamamotos Hula Grubs and Craws will be on the menu, as well as Lake Forks Craw Tubes and the Fork Craw. Gambler will be fished too! I plan I would give their tubes a try especially the black, red, glitter, chartreuse tube, the look of it combined with the infamous Gambler scent should prove to be easy 'Bass candy"!

There are local products made here in Ontario, Canada that will fit the Bass bill! The Lightning Series Jigs are made with good potential skirts that last and last and come in a whole variety of color combinations. I have a good variety to start with this season from Lightning Series and I am looking forward to them being on the end of my line! another Canadian stock that I can't wait to try is the Bass Magnet tube baits.

There are some very intriguing colors to select from, believe me! I don't know where to begin mentioning colors because they all look good, but I must say, the bloody mustard gill will be the first tube in the water this season!

As you can tell we sure have our work cut out for us in the 2008 Bass season and we are pretty definite that we are up for the task! You, the readers can be definite that Pro Bass Fishing.ca will continue to bring anglers tackle results from our outings. We have fun testing the tackle we choose, but we also have just as much fun bringing you the results!

Fishing Tackle Review: Shimano Alivio 2500Rb Reel

Much like many hobbies, the gear related with fishing is ordinarily just as primary as the performance of fishing itself. Fishermen all over the place receive lots of satisfaction from finding for fishing tackle in shops, in catalogues and also on the net. One of the very best facets of searching the internet for tackle specials is that you'll also come across evaluations from other fishermen that have used the item(s) under consideration. Taking that into consideration, Let me offer a short write-up on a frightful and reasonably priced reel hailing from firm leader Shimano: the Alivio 2500Rb.

Key Features of the Shimano Alivio 2500Rb Reel

Shimano Reels

the classic ability and popular features of this solid, trustable reel from Shimano belie its sensible selling price, which ranges from about £21.00 to about £32.00. While the optical request for retrial of a reel isn't in effect all that primary to me, I truly do admire the 2500Rb's sleek, stealthy design, a matte black, burnished metal, along with the grey and chrome colour scheme. Likewise the rear body armour has lots of stylishness. This is one low priced reel which clearly does not look it! Part of the Shimano P3 production, the 2500Rb has an especially smooth and specifically man-made multi-disc rear drag theory that is equal to even the most intensely fighting piscine adversary.

More Info On the Alivio 2500Rb

This definite reel is filled with customary Shimano attributes such as Varispeed®, which provides much better line lay via two special gear designs, one of which, astoundingly, is in effect square. The reel also offers Super Stopper Ii®, a characteristic which produces zero free play if your reel is put in the anti-reverse positioning. This makes it potential for micro-fine increment adjustments of quiver tips and bite indicators. Additionally, it speeds hook setting. The specially made Power Roller® element is phenomenal with both mono filament and braided line, as it decreases line twist significantly. Dyna Balance® minimises reel wobble, creating allembracing execution which is magnificently smooth. One more exclusive aspect of the reel is Shimano's P3 specification. P3 stands for the "power, precision and performance" of the reel's advanced gearing system. The Alivio 2500Rb, just like all other Shimano reels, is accurately assembled to micrometer tolerances that are specified by way of a computer-aid design. All these aspects and functions work together to make the Alivio 2500Rb a real standout in its class.

Several Specs

The Alivio 2500Rb weighs in at 255 grams, offers one ball bearing as well as one roller bearing. It takes the Shimano Rd11178 spool. Line capacity is 240 metres of.20 line, 160 metres of.25 line, and 110 metres of.30 line. This translates to 200 yards of 6 lb. Test line, 140 yards of 8 lb, and 120 yards of 10 lb. Its gear ratio is 4.6:1. This reel is built on Shimano's trustable Xt7 body and will take the Shimano Rd11178 aluminium spool. You might want to pair this definite reel with a Shimano fishing rod to secure maximum power, command and steadiness. This reel truly does have an unequalled variety of features.

I'm pleased to propose the Shimano Alivio 2500Rb to any fisherman who is hunting for a reasonably-priced reel with classic allembracing performance.
